Available Position: Project Manager (Arts & Culture Division)
Position Overview: E.W. Howell currently has an opening for a Project Manager in our NYC office. This person will be responsible for the successful completion of activities related to the construction of projects in the arts and culture sector in Manhattan. The project manager will report directly to the Project Executive and is responsible for coordinating project execution in conformity with drawings and specifications, processing submittals, expediting materials, project scheduling, purchasing materials, general administration, and owner/architect liaison. Key responsibilities include preparing monthly schedule reports and narratives, and creating and updating two week look ahead schedules. In addition, the project manager will prepare and track Requests for Information, Change Orders, correspondence and other transmittals using project management software programs.
Degree in Construction Management or similar field, 10+ years’ experience/ knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required.
Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital; superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and in a team setting.

Available Position: Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent (Healthcare Division)
Position Overview: The Superintendent is responsible for field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. The Superintendent directly supervises field labor force, including laborers/craft workers. Daily interaction with the owner, architect, engineer, city and governing agencies, and skilled subcontractors is required. In addition, the Superintendent will be responsible for quality control, safety, and security at the project site, as well as for day-to-day construction progress, deliveries, and housekeeping. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills. Major duties and responsibilities include:
- Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force
- Experience in healthcare construction, and working in occupied facilities.
- OSHA certification, First Aid/CPR certification
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
- Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, Subcontracts and Purchase Orders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to read drawings and specifications
- Functions effectively as part of a team
- Exhibits strong leadership qualities
- Strong decision making/problem solving skills

Position Overview: The role would provide administrative support to the Project Team, ensuring the effective and smooth running of the day to day operations.
