Harry Hansen Rises to Vice President of Specialty Projects Division
(Plainview, N.Y. – February 6, 2017 – EW Howell Construction Group, one of the region’s leading education, government, cultural and healthcare builders, announces that Harry Hansen has been named Vice President of the firm’s Specialty Projects Division. He joined EW Howell’s Plainview office in 2001 as a Project Superintendent and brings nearly 45 years of experience in supervision, coordination, site logistics and project phasing to his new role.
“Harry has been part of several of EW Howell’s most complex projects in recent years, projects which had some of the most stringent safety requirements across all divisions. His expertise in managing those projects make him the best person to lead our Specialty Projects division,” said Howard Rowland, President of EW Howell Construction Group. “However, Harry tackles each and every project using EW Howell’s ‘Build Simply’ approach, so even the division’s most multifaceted projects are delivered on-time, on budget and with little complication.”
Previously a project executive, Hansen will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the projects within his division as Vice President of the firm’s Specialty Projects Division. Hansen has worked on multiple projects for Brookhaven National Laboratory, including its Research Support Building, Interdisciplinary Science Building, Center for Functional Nanomaterials, and Laboratory Office Building.
He has also been involved in projects for Libya House, Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum and Stony Brook University just to name a few. He is currently working on the $300 million Medical and Research Translation (MART) project at Stony Brook University Hospital.
