Mount Sinai South Nassau Holds Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Medical Arts Pavilion

A large group of people, including officials and staff, stand in front of a Mount Sinai Doctors sign, holding and cutting a blue ribbon during a ribbon-cutting ceremony outside a modern building.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the opening of the new Mount Sinai South Nassau Medical Arts Pavilion (MAP), replacing the former Long Beach Medical Care Center, which was demolished following Superstorm Sandy. The new $35 million Pavilion opened on June 20th, 2023; it aims to provide care for a wide range of conditions, filling the gap for residents on the South Shore of Long Island, including Long Beach.

EW Howell is proud and honored to be the General Contractor on this project, which provides cardiology, gastroenterology, urology, pain management, and X-ray and lab services. The building offers private exam rooms, procedure rooms, an X-ray room, procedure preparation, and recovery rooms. Site improvement includes new parking areas, water retention systems, landscaping, and an emergency staging area (ESA).
