THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN’S ENID A. HAUPT CONSERVATORY PALM DOME RECEIVES LUCY G. MOSES PRESERVATION AWARD

A large glass conservatory dome, labeled "Enid A. Haupt Conservatory," stands beneath a clear blue sky, surrounded by green trees and foliage.

E.W. Howell Co., LLC, which celebrates its 130th anniversary this year, has received a Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy (NYLC) for its work on the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory Palm Dome at the New York Botanical Garden. NYLC noted the conservatory is “one of the nation’s preeminent examples of Victorian-era glasshouses and the focal point of the New York Botanical Garden,” and highlighted that the project team accomplished the preservation amid limited site access and other unique challenges.
