Canon USA, Corporate Headquarters
EW Howell Construction Group provided program management services for Canon’s new North and South American headquarters campus in Melville, NY. Canon USA, Inc. is a worldwide leader in digital imaging and advanced office solutions.
The five-story office building, totaling close to 700,000 square feet, includes two multi-level parking garages. It features amenities such as a fitness center, day care center, and will be equipped to conduct some product research and development.
The 52-acre parcel is located at the southwest corner of the Long Island Expressway South Service Road and Walt Whitman Road.
HOK was the architect for the Canon USA building, which became Canon’s third major headquarters in the world. The others were in Tokyo and London.
The new facility is a model for environmental stewardship and innovation and will feature several environmentally friendly elements including a design emphasizing the use of natural lighting, the incorporation of energy-efficient equipment and materials in construction, as well as a landscape design that utilizes native species and drought-resistant vegetation.
