Public Storage (Long Island City)

Public Storage Long Island City Rendering

PROJECT DETAILS

The Public Storage project in Long Island City is a 12-story, 170,000-square-foot climate-controlled storage facility. The final rock anchor test was completed and foundations were finished in May 2023. This allowed for preparation of a 30,000-gallon cast-in-place water storage tank at the front of the building. Six floors were erected on the south half of the building followed by a fourth concrete on deck. Spray-on fireproofing and insulated metal panel installation for the building were set for the summer.

More recently, installation of the building envelope for the Public Storage project in Long Island City is underway. Insulated metal panels are being installed on the bottom half of the building. Full enclosure is expected by the end of 2024.

MEPs have been roughed in for the first four floors. Commissioning of the building began in early 2024. The full enclosure of the building is approaching while we work on glass installation and the removal of the hoist run. MEPs have been roughed in to the roof, sitework is proficiently progressing, and storage units are readily being installed.

We plan to have TCO by this summer.

Completion of the building is slated for May 2024.
