This project includes an 88,000-square-foot expansion and renovation to the South Shore Mall. The project consists of new building construction and renovation to an existing anchor building. Two-thirds of the existing 3-story Macy’s was removed with the remaining portion modified for a fitness center on the 2nd floor consisting of basketball courts, racquetball courts, and swimming pools. The second level was modified into new tenant spaces with a new mall concourse. Attached to the new building will be 8,100 square feet of new retail core/shell.
In the updated spaces, the EW Howell team installed new water services and new electrical fittings in the outside shopping center site. The team also carried out a complete upgrade of the interior of the mall including new tiling, a new food court, and new entrances.
