EW Howell completed renovation and new construction of the new Huntington Shopping Center for Federal Realty Investment Trust. This 222,600-square-foot project’s scope of work included two new one-story standalone buildings, one new inline building with an addition, and renovation of three existing buildings. The 21-acre site also received improvements by enhancing and repairing the existing surface-level parking, installing benches and public seating, and adding three new vehicular and pedestrian entrances.
In addition to the new Whole Foods Market, each storefront will receive new signage, lighting fixtures, and façade repairs. Additional retail tenants include PetSmart, Ulta Beauty, Tilly’s, and Michaels. All current tenants remained open during construction.
Vacant open spaces at the shopping center, referred to as pad sites, will also be prepared for potential construction in the future.
In May 2024, the Huntington Shopping Center was spotlighted in New York Real Estate Journal’s Developing Long Island Spotlight. It was also recognized in the Long Island Business News 2024 Real Estate, Architecture, & Engineering Awards, being named Top Retail Redevelopment – Suffolk. The project was recognized at the AIA Long Island Chapter’s 59th Annual Archi Awards for Commercial Mercantile Renovations and Additions.
