Northwell Health, Garden City Imaging Center

This Northwell Health project in Garden City included new construction within an existing building which has 11,000 square feet of shell space available for development of the Imaging Center. This is a full-service imaging center with MRI, CIT, Mammography, Ultrasound, and Digital X-ray together with associated support spaces.

The facility houses the most advanced technology that the healthcare imaging industry has available, like low-dose CT and 3.0T MRI. Now, patients can have image-guided procedures and biopsies in their local Garden City area. As the first radiology practice based in New York, this convenient facility helps Northwell continue fulfilling its mission for its patients.

The obstacles that EW Howell Construction Group faced on this project were electrical and mechanical. Imaging centers have unique needs compared to other contracts we handled. The centers need a variety of equipment to serve patients, and each piece of equipment must be properly installed. EW Howell coordinated the construction and equipment installation at the right time and place for each room.
