The 2-phase NYU Langone Health Cyberknife Addition/Linear Replacement project consisted of the renovation of the Radiation Oncology Facility. Phase 1 included the construction of a new addition to accommodate the new Cyberknife, as well as supporting ancillary spaces. Phase 2 consisted of decommissioning and replacing the existing Linear Accelerator. There were minor cosmetic upgrades to the interior during both phases.
This project required a deep foundation on a small site, in close proximity to the property lines. An alternate helical pile foundation system was used to reduce the required excavation depth and limit the amount of sheeting and shoring required, resulting in lower costs.
