Phillips Family Cancer Center Building

Southampton Hospital, Phillips Family Cancer Center

The Phillips Family Cancer Center is the first comprehensive Cancer Center located on the East End of Long Island. The 2-story, 12,000-square-foot facility center provides patients with a one-stop shop for cancer treatment, including planning, radiation and chemotherapy, clinical trials, education, and supportive care.

The Center boasts a primary patient treatment room highlighted by raised cathedral ceilings and expansive windows and skylights to allow views out of both to an adjacent garden.

At the center of the building’s planning was the installation of a state-of-the-art linear accelerator. To accommodate the technology, the project team located the radiation treatment area on the ground floor, incorporating a 22,000-pound leaded cantilevered concrete door and prefabricated leaded concrete walls in the vault.
