Children's Aid Bronx Community School Exterior

Children’s Aid Bronx Community School

The Children’s Aid Bronx Community School, the home for the Children’s Aid College Prep Charter School, consisted of 73,300 square feet of new construction across six stories in the South Bronx.

The school holds 420 students ranging from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. This project was the largest Bronx location for Children’s Aid. The nonprofit organization operates 22 community schools in the Bronx, Harlem, Washington Heights, and Staten Island.

The Children’s Aid Bronx Community School provides a program which includes 3 classrooms for each grade level, specialized classrooms and labs, a gym/assembly area, a library/media center, a lobby, student support spaces, a medical suite, a cafeteria and kitchen, administrative spaces, and a rooftop play area.

Floor plans emphasize open spaces over narrow hallways. Custom acoustic materials absorb noise from nearby elevated trains, providing a calmer learning environment.
