EW Howell Construction Group is the General Contractor for the 4-story, 83,000-square-foot Stony Brook University Tabler Quad New Residence Hall.
Construction consists of two residence towers – the West Wing and East Wing – with a 5,000-square-foot centralized Commons area including shallow foundations, load-bearing partitions, hollow-core precast concrete plank floors, and a full fit-out with new MEP systems. The Commons area will feature ample seating, kitchenette, and separate conference and seminar rooms. The ground floor of each Wing will feature pantries, while each upper floor will have its own study with visual display boards.
The new residence hall will accommodate 310 beds, primarily designed for double occupancy, with separate single rooms designated for residential assistants (RAs). Additionally, the hall will feature 3-bedroom units equipped with in-unit cooking facilities. Bedrooms designated for individuals with disabilities will meet and exceed ADA requirements, ensuring enhanced accessibility for all residents.
