Village Community School New Shot

Village Community School

Located at 272 W. 10th Street in Manhattan, the Village Community School is a K-8 not-for-profit school that develops self-motivated students who value the challenging and rewarding process of learning as an integral part of life.

This project consisted of the new addition and renovation to the existing building, which included the expansion of a new 3-story plus cellar facility, approximately 30,000 square feet, and back fill work in the existing building on cellar through the fifth floor as well as the roof.

The new addition also includes a gymnasium, a library at the heart of the school, specialized classrooms, and a rooftop play yard, in addition to renovation of the existing building.

A “curtain wall” connects the old and new portions of the school—and also serves secondarily by fashioning a showy entrance for the redesigned Village Community School.
